The 12 Personal AI Agents Users Actually Prefer in 2026, Ranked by 277,038 Posts

November 3, 2026

Short answer: between Google's and OpenAI's personal agents, users rate Gemini Spark above ChatGPT Dots. Neither is what users prefer overall. Across 277,038 public posts from 165,201 people, Feedback Bench ranks Meta's Muse first (73.4), Nous Research's Hermes Agent second (62.5) and xAI's Grok Bot third (57.9). Gemini Spark lands 8th of 12 (44.2). ChatGPT Dots lands 12th (38.5). Anthropic's Claude Duet is not in this edition; it joins in the next update.

The more useful finding is why. The agent people talk about most is not the agent people like most. Popularity is not preference.

The ranking: 12 personal agents by what users say

Feedback Bench 1.1 covers posts on Reddit, X, YouTube, the App Store and the Play Store from August 31 to November 1, 2026. Each agent's Feedback Score weighs two things equally: popularity (how many people post about it) and customer love (how those posts rate it against the category, where 0.50 is the norm). A score of 50 is an agent that is average on both.

Only three agents sit in the top-right quadrant, more popular than average and liked more than the norm: Muse, Hermes Agent and Hark. Every agent's page on Feedback Bench opens the posts behind each number, quoted with a link to the original.

ChatGPT Dots vs Gemini Spark, head to head

These are the two agents most people mean when they ask "ChatGPT vs Gemini." The data splits them cleanly.

ChatGPT Dots: widely discussed, widely criticized

Dots launched inside ChatGPT on September 29 and drew 13,279 posting users in five weeks, more than four times Gemini Spark's 2,960. That reach earns it a +4.9 popularity bonus. Its customer love costs it 16.5 points, the largest penalty in the bench. Dots ranks last of 12 on getting tasks done, last on running on its own, last on staying in control and last on dealing with the vendor. On the criterion "says it did something it did not do," its users posted 72 complaints and zero praise.

Its one bright spot is the usage allowance, where it ranks 2nd of 6. Users get enough runs. They are unhappy with what the runs produce.

Gemini Spark: liked more, discussed less

Gemini Spark scores near the norm on most areas: 3rd of 8 on paying for the agent, 4th of 9 on getting set up, 4th of 8 on dealing with the vendor. Its weak spot is the area that matters most. It ranks 10th of 12 on getting tasks done, which makes up more than a third of what its users talk about. Its bigger problem is that few people are talking about it at all: a 1.6% share of voice.

When users compare ChatGPT Dots to another agent directly, they pick the other one. In posts that name two agents and prefer one, 77% prefer Muse over Dots and 69% prefer Grok Bot over Dots.

What the top three get right

1. Muse (Meta): best for everyday tasks that just get done

Muse leads on both halves of the score. Users rank it 1st on paying for the agent, 1st on talking to it and 2nd on getting tasks done, with top marks on email triage, reminders, memory and not stopping short. Its weak spots are trust and access: 7th of 7 on data and safety, and last on country availability. Head to head, 86% of posts that choose between Muse and OpenClaw pick Muse.

2. Hermes Agent (Nous Research): best for control and trust

Hermes ranks 1st of 7 on staying in control, 1st on trust and 1st on dealing with the vendor. Users praise choosing their own model and configuring its behavior. It trails on getting tasks done (9th of 12) and on setup effort. Its users trade convenience for control, and they say so. 83% of posts comparing it with OpenClaw prefer Hermes.

3. Grok Bot (xAI): best at tasks, worst on limits

Grok Bot ranks 1st of 12 on getting tasks done and 1st on getting set up. Then users hit the cap. It ranks last on paying for the agent, and usage limits alone account for 14% of everything its users say. Its high score comes from reach. Its customer love sits just below the norm.

What users complain about, and ask for

Across all 12 agents, the most common requests are about access and limits, not capability. Counted in user-weeks (one person asking in one week):

  • Invite codes for access: 566 user-weeks
  • Higher overall usage limits: 465
  • Availability in the EU and wider Europe: 397
  • A mobile app: 366
  • Voice conversation mode: 311

Getting tasks done is the largest single area of discussion, at 26% of all ratings. Within it, the criteria that separate leaders from laggards are the ones that break trust: stopping short, handing the task back and reporting a task as done when it was not. Feedback Bench's own analysis found users fault personal agents more for holding back than for overstepping.

How to pick a personal agent

Benchmarks tell you what an agent can do on a fixed test. User feedback tells you what it is like to live with one after week two. Use these four questions, in order:

  1. Does it finish the job? Look at "getting tasks done," and especially at false "done" reports. An agent that claims success it did not deliver costs you more than one that asks for help.
  2. Will the allowance last? Usage caps are the second most requested fix in the category. Grok Bot shows that a capable agent can still lose users at the limit.
  3. How much control do you want? If you want to choose the model and see every step, Hermes Agent leads. If you want it to just handle things, Muse leads.
  4. Can you get it where you live? Invite codes and EU availability are the top requests. The best-rated agent is no use behind a waitlist.

How Feedback Bench ranks agents

Feedback Bench is built by Enterpret. Language models label each public post against 53 criteria in 9 areas, from price and setup to trust and vendor support. The unit is the user-week, so twenty posts from one person in one week count once. Agents with few posts are pulled toward the norm so a handful of fans cannot crown a winner. The full method and the raw data are public as Markdown, JSON and CSV.

The fixed criteria are the point. Asking a chatbot to summarize thousands of posts gives you a different answer each time. In Enterpret's study of run-to-run instability across eight frontier models, raw models changed more than half of their returned themes between two runs at 100 records, rising to nearly three quarters at 5,000. Labeling every post against a stable set of criteria is what makes a week-over-week ranking comparable. If you are judging how well any platform does this, here is how to compare text analytics accuracy.

The same analysis runs on any company's own customer feedback. That is the job of an AI-native customer intelligence platform: Enterpret's Adaptive Taxonomy learns the criteria that matter for your product, so the ranking of what customers love and hate stays comparable week after week. If you are weighing options, start with how to evaluate a customer insights platform.

Launch-day demos sell the first week. User feedback decides the tenth. The agents that win will be the ones that finish the job, tell the truth about what they did and stay available when users need them. That gap compounds every week a product ignores it.

FAQ

Do users prefer ChatGPT or Gemini as a personal agent?

Users rate Gemini Spark above ChatGPT Dots. In Feedback Bench 1.1, Gemini Spark scores 44.2 (8th of 12) and ChatGPT Dots scores 38.5 (12th of 12). Dots is discussed far more, but its customer love of 0.372 is the lowest of any agent in the bench.

Where does Claude rank among personal agents?

Anthropic's personal agent, Claude Duet, is not in Feedback Bench 1.1, which covers posts from August 31 to November 1, 2026. It will be ranked in the next update, using the same 53 criteria.

Which personal AI agent do users like most in 2026?

Meta's Muse ranks first with a Feedback Score of 73.4, ahead of Hermes Agent (62.5) and Grok Bot (57.9). Muse leads on both popularity and customer love, with top marks on value, conversation and finishing tasks.

What do users complain about most with personal agents?

Access and limits. The top requests across the category are invite codes, higher usage limits and availability in Europe. Within task performance, users are hardest on agents that stop short or report a task as done when it was not.

Why not just ask a chatbot which personal agent is best?

Because the answer shifts every time you ask. Enterpret's research found raw frontier models changed more than half of their top themes between two runs on the same feedback, while a taxonomy-grounded approach cut that churn by 86 to 88%. Feedback Bench labels every post against fixed criteria so rankings stay comparable week to week.

If you want the same ranking for your own product, built from your own customers' feedback, see how Enterpret works.
